OUR STORY
‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.’
DGA Opened in January 2013
Originally starting out as Graves Gymnastics Club in 2009 (based at Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre), with just 45 recreational members, the club quickly developed. In late 2012 it was evident that the club was outgrowing the leisure centre and needed to relocate. It was a daunting prospect but after lots of deliberation and careful planning, we managed to make our dream of having our own premises a reality. In January 2013 we moved to Birch House Way in Dronfield and DGA was born. We opened our doors on the 7th of January 2013 with the aim of offering gymnastics coaching for all, from complete beginners to competitive gymnasts, boys and girls, from preschool to adults, 7 days per week.
Our new premises
After 5 very successful years and with over 500 members, we outgrew our facility on Birch House Way and moved to a larger 8,000 sq ft unit on Hunter Park, just 100metres away. We moved in and opened our doors in January 2018. Our new facility boasted a viewing gallery for parents, a café, a party room and member changing rooms as well as much more equipment! We now run general gymnastics classes from beginners to advanced, boys only classes, pre-school gymnastics classes and adult classes. We also have 10 competitive squads who train hard and compete around the country in General, Women’s Artistic and Men’s Artistic competitions.
